What the heck is VRT?
Historically, one of the difficulties encountered by online virtual communities has been coordinating the time of public events. The problem is that by their very nature online communities have members who live all over the world in many different time zones. Most people would simply announce events in their own local time and expect everyone else to figure out the equivalent time in their own locale.
Virtual Reality Time is a convention agreed upon by members of the various virtual communities around the globe as the new standard time to be used for events. VRT is actually equivalent to the "Mid-Atlantic" time zone, which is GMT minus two hours.
VRT does not recognize daylight savings time to be consistant to everyone around the globe.
